The Age of Adaline

In 1933, Adaline Bowman (Blake Lively) stopped aging at just 29 years old. The coincidence of mysterious weather phenomena in a serious car accident ensured that Adaline's body would remain in its young form for all time to come. The following 80 years were lonely. Adaline missed out on one of the most important experiences: To love, which serves as a source of strength and happiness for other people. Doesn't life lose its meaning without death? What initially seems like a blessing turns out to be a curse on closer inspection. The fact that Lee Toland Krieger, who previously made the quirky relationship comedy “Celeste & Jesse”, tells the story without irony this time is what gives the film its nostalgic charm. The carefree way in which the director bends his story will divide the audience into two camps: While some will fall wholeheartedly under the film's spell, others will tear their hair out in disbelief.
