In Dublin in the 1980s. Conor lives there and is forced to leave his idyllic private school and transfer to a public school in the city due to the recession. Conor muddles his way through the rough school day with his head bowed. A small glimmer of hope only grows when he meets the absolutely gorgeous and super cool Raphina. To win her heart, he asks her to be the female lead in his band's music video. To his surprise, Raphina agrees. So now he has to do everything he can to avoid being exposed as a loudmouth. He therefore forms his own band and immerses himself in the world of pulsating rock music of the 80s. The guys then invest all their heart and soul into writing their own songs and shoot one video after another.
