"Toni Erdmann" tells the story of Winfried, a music teacher, and his daughter Ines, a management consultant who travels around the world to optimize companies. As Winfried doesn't see much of his daughter at home, he decides to pay her a spontaneous visit in Romania. Instead of announcing his visit, he surprises her in the lobby of her company. The father's advances fail miserably. But then Winfried surprises Ines with a radical transformation into Toni Erdmann, his dazzling alter ego. Toni doesn't mince his words and interferes in Ines' professional life. Surprisingly, Ines gets involved in a game, and father and daughter make a startling discovery: the harder they clash, the closer they become.
