Life paths that separate and cross. It is the loose connection of moments that creates in-between spaces and interpersonal relationships. Greece 1984. Kenneth, an English musician and Theres, a young German, sing in the streets to finance their holidays. They love each other. When Kenneth receives the news that his mother has had an accident, he rushes home, leaving Theres behind. He realizes how much he needs her, but his attempt to win her back fails. 30 years later, in Berlin. Ariane, a 40-year-old television actress, breaks away in a crisis from her husband, a successful anthropologist. He moves into an apartment at the central station. From his window he sees a homeless man. It is Kenneth who does not know that Theres also lives in Berlin now.
