The Solothurn Film Festival was founded in 1966 as a kind of cinematic weekend event at which young filmmakers presented their otherwise little-noticed first films to the public. This developed into a veritable, globally recognized festival that takes the pulse of local filmmaking - it is "the" showcase of Swiss film! For more than five decades now, the Solothurn Film Festival has been presenting a current selection of Swiss films every January and, with more than 65,000 visitors, is one of Switzerland's defining cultural events. The 60th Solothurn Film Festival will take place from January 22 to 29, 2025. Our collection includes feature films, documentaries and short films that have been screened at the Solothurn Film Festival over the years.
