Kurt Böwe

Kurt Böwe (28.4.1929-14.6.2000): Böwe is one of the best-known GDR actors, a great theatre mime and comedian. Many critics consider him a baroque actor in the succession of such great actors as Eugen Klöpfer, Emil Jannings, Heinrich George or Willy A. Kleinau. His physical, image-filling acting has left its mark on some of the most important DEFA films. He worked with Konrad Wolf, Ulrich Weiß and Roland Gräf. In more than 30 years he has lent his voice to 150 radio play characters. With his Theodor Fontane readings, he captivates thousands of listeners throughout the country.
