The prestigious tribute to Swiss filmmaking

The Swiss Film Prize has been awarded since 1998. Each year at the end of March, the award is presented in 13 categories, alternating between the cities of Zurich and Geneva. The 2023 award ceremony took place on 22 March in Zurich. The Swiss Film Prize (Prix du cinéma suisse in French, Premio del cinema svizzero in Italian, Premi dal film svizzer in Rhaeto-Romanic) and thus Swiss filmmaking, the nominated films and the filmmakers are always presented in the week before the award ceremony as part of the "Week of the Nominees" in Geneva and Zurich: All the nominated films are then shown at the Cinémas du Grütli in Geneva and at the Filmpodium in Zurich. The annual award for Swiss filmmaking is realised by the Federal Office of Culture FOC together with its partners SRG SSR and the Association "Quartz" Genève Zurich and organised in collaboration with Swiss Films, the Swiss Film Academy and the Solothurn Film Festival.
